I am a brand strategist based in Charlotte, North Carolina, and the founder of Lamphere Brand Studio.
I work with real estate developers, professional services firms, and founder-led businesses. The companies I work with are usually good at what they do and underserved by how they look and sound. My job is to close that gap: to find the true, specific thing a company stands for and build a brand that says it clearly.
How I got here
I started in advertising, as a brand strategist at BBDO Atlanta. It was a fast education in the difference between work that wins awards and work that changes how a business performs. I learned to care about the second kind.
From there I moved client-side, leading marketing at Crescent Realty Partners. Real estate taught me how brand behaves under pressure: how a strong name lowers the cost of capital, shortens a sales cycle, and holds value when the market turns. It also showed me how often good developers underinvest in the one asset that does not depreciate.
In 2018 I founded Lamphere Brand Studio to do this work on my own terms, for a small number of clients at a time, with strategy at the center of every engagement.
What I believe about brand
A brand is not a logo. It is a decision filter, the shared idea that tells a team what to do when no one is there to ask. Get the strategy right and the identity follows. Get it wrong and no amount of beautiful design will save it.
I also believe that looking like everyone else is the riskiest thing a brand can do. Safe, category-average design quietly trains an audience to compete on price. The work I care about is the work that makes a company legible, memorable, and worth a premium.
