What I am focused on at the moment.
A snapshot of current work, reading, and life, updated from time to time. Last updated May 2026.
Studio focus
Most of my time right now is with two clients: a multifamily real estate developer working through a full repositioning, and a wealth management firm building a brand from the ground up. Both are in the strategy phase, which is my favorite part.
Writing
I am writing more this year, mostly short essays on brand strategy. The latest is on why founder-led companies should treat the founder as their primary brand asset. You can read it in the writing section.
Reading
On my desk: a stack of design monographs and a re-read of a few books on positioning. I keep coming back to the idea that clarity, not cleverness, is what makes brand work hold up.
Speaking
I recently spoke at the Charlotte Small Business Conference on building a brand worth a premium. I am putting together a longer talk on the same theme for later this year.
Closer to home
Weekends are for the farmers market, long walks, trail time in the Blue Ridge when I can get there, and our golden retriever, who has strong opinions about the schedule.
